An evening of geography dedicated to the Novruz holiday was held at the specialized secondary school No. 39 in Turkmenabat.

It was conducted by teachers and students of the Department of geography and methods of teaching Of the Turkmen state pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi together with teachers of this school. It was attended by avid geography lovers among high school students.

They were divided into two groups — “Day” and “Night”. Students made reports on environmental protection, ways of careful use of natural resources, and introduced the participants and guests of the evening with news about the achievements of geographical science. They also answered questions on the given topics, read poems and excerpts from prose works that glorify nature. They showed mini scenes related to environmental protection, performed songs. They showed videos prepared using materials about global climate change and its harmful consequences of human economic activity.

The jury awarded the first place to the group “Day”.
