A true teacher is defined not simply by the number of students they have graduated, but by the lasting impact they leave on their students’ lives and on culture itself. One such mentor is Muhtarkuly Musayev, a choral conducting instructor at the Lebap Specialized School of Arts.
Muhtarkuly Musayev, who holds a higher education degree, has devoted his life to the development of musical art and teaching. He began his professional career at this institution in 1987 and has remained faithful to his chosen path ever since. In 1989, he successfully graduated from the Tashkent State Conservatory named after M. Ashrafi, earning the qualification of choir conductor and teacher. Over decades of continuous work, he has trained more than one generation of talented musicians, instilling in them a deep understanding of national culture and a sincere love for music.
Throughout his career, Mukhtarkuly Musaev has established himself as a highly qualified educator and a dedicated mentor. He not only teaches professional skills but also nurtures in his students a love for art, respect for national culture, and a desire for creative growth. His classes are distinguished by depth of content, methodological precision, and strong educational value. The effectiveness of his approach is clearly demonstrated by the consistent success of his students in prestigious national competitions and showcases.
The list of his students’ achievements has been growing for many years. In 2014, B. Seyitnazarova was awarded a diploma, and in 2020, Suray Yagshymyradova won an honorary second place. At the “Youth Inspiration” talent showcase in 2023, Selbi Aymyradova received a first-degree diploma, and a year later, Suray Gurbanmyradova repeated this success. In 2025, Maya Nuryagdyyeva earned a second-degree diploma in choral conducting at the competition “Inspiration of Youth Singing Peace.” Most recently, in 2026, Adalat Seyitbayeva received the same award at the “Youth Inspiration” competition. These achievements clearly demonstrate the teacher’s ability to work with a wide range of students and fully develop their creative potential.
In addition to his daily teaching, he is actively engaged in research work. Dozens of his textbooks, curricula, and methodological materials have been published. Among them, works such as “Choral Arrangement,” “Choral Class,” “Practice of Choral Class,” and “Work on the Conductor’s Technique” are particularly noteworthy, as well as his specialized research on the “upbeat” method.
He has also made a significant contribution to enriching the choral repertoire by creating new arrangements of Turkmen folk songs and works by well-known composers, giving them a completely new stage sound. The state has highly appreciated his work, and Muhtarkuly Musayev has been repeatedly awarded Certificates of Honor from the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, including on the occasion of anniversary dates of the Lebap Specialized School of Arts.
Today, he continues to work with full dedication and gladly shares his vast experience with new generations.
