Turkmenistan: Good results have been achieved in sports
Over the past six months good results have been achieved in sports in the Lebap velayat
Due to restrictions imposed due to the spread of coronavirus in the world, Lebap athletes could only participate in international competitions at the beginning of the year. In one of them, weightlifter Seyitjan Mirzayev successfully competed in the Olympic qualifying competitions held in the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent. He finished first in the clean and jerk and fourth in the snatch. As a result, he finished third in total points and was eligible to participate in the Tokyo Olympics.
Young wrestler Hackberry Jumaev in an international Grand Prix in Israel took fifth place. Chess player Shageldi Kurbandurdiev distinguished himself in international chess competitions among children under 12 years old, held in the Republic of Turkey. He took first place. And Dzhora Ovezmyradov was awarded the first place in the international karate-do competitions, which were held in the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Baku.
Athletes of the velayat successfully performed in competitions held in the country. Over the past six months, 876 athletes in the national teams of the velayat participated in the Championships, Championships and competitions for the Cup of Turkmenistan. And took 195 first, 173 second and 136 third places.
In January-June of this year, 94 Championships, Championships and cups of the velayat were held. They were attended by 9547 athletes from the city of Turkmenabat and etraps of the velayat. They raffled off 3,985 prizes. In them, 1,252 athletes took first, 1,186 second and 1,547 third places.
Currently, there are 51 sports schools and 7 sports complexes in velayat. In them, 670 coaches train almost 24 thousand athletes in 37 sports. 3 masters of sports of international class, 13 masters of sports and 46 candidates for master of sports train and give their experience to young people in velayat.
